--The Hawks' defense was particularly salty early on against the Bucks Friday night. They held the Bucks without a field goal for over seven minutes, stretching a 20-17 lead with 4:14 to play in the first quarter to 36-19 -- the Bucks did make two free throws -- with 8:54 to play in the second quarter. It's the kind of defensive performance Hawks coach Mike Woodson loves to see.
"We're back to defending like we were defending early in the year," Woodson said. "That's the way we're going to have to continue the rest of the way out. And it's no fluke, when we defend and hold teams under 100 points, we're pretty good."
--G Mike Bibby had 10 assists by halftime Friday, notching his third double-digit assist performance on the season and first since finishing with 10 in a Dec. 3 win over Memphis. He finished with a season-high 15.
"He was the ringleader out there tonight," Josh Smith said. "You can't ask for anything more than that from your point guard."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "They're a great team at home and we knew that coming in, but I don't think we put forth the effort tonight to win the game." -- former Hawks and now Bucks G Tyronn Lue on the Hawks.
