Atlanta Hawks Notes, Quotes 2009-11-18

--Portland All-Star shooting guard Brandon Roy saw a little more of his Hawks counterpart Monday night. Joe Johnson switched on to Roy late in the game, and they went one-on-one for basically all of the fourth quarter of the Hawks' win.

"Joe Johnson is a good defender on me," Roy said. "And he also had a great game on offense, so he's always a good matchup for me to play against. He's got a big body and has a nice pull-up game, too. He's definitely one of the top players in the league."

--Joe Johnson was stunned to hear that the Hawks hadn't won the season series against the Trail Blazers since the 1996-97 season, which is essentially a lifetime ago when you factor in all the Hawks' youngsters.

"I think I might have been in high school still," Johnson joked after the fact. "Seriously, though, it feels good to accomplish all these things along the way to what is hopefully a big season for the Atlanta Hawks."
