--The Hawks are off to their best start since going 13-2 to begin the 1997-98 season. The Hawks went on to finish 50-32 that year, something not lost on the current core group in A-Town. "I think the most important thing in there is how they finished," Joe Johnson said. "Plenty of teams get hot right out of the gate," Josh Smith said. "We have to finish. We have to be that team."
--C Al Horford didn't get the 20-point scoring outing like Jamal Crawford, Mike Bibby and Josh Smith. But he busted loose in just about every other way possible in what was without question a must-have game for the Hawks. Horford's 15 points, eight rebounds and two blocks made up for his inability to crack the 20-point barrier.
"I think we can forgive him for that," Josh Smith said smiling. "Plus, Al will get his chances to score more. I guarantee you that."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "It's just nice to get back to doing what we do and winning games. Losing two straight seemed so foreign to us because of what we've accomplished so far." -- F Marvin Williams on the Hawks' return to normal after snapping a two-game skid.
