--Life without Mike Bibby for the Hawks was ugly. The Hawks were blown out without Bibby. They trailed by as many as 29 points and wound up losing 121-97 to the Los Angeles Clippers. That's why Hawks coach Mike Woodson was pleased to have him back against the Wizards.
"It was tough without him," Woodson said. "I told him if he was ready to go, we needed him back out there."
--F-C Zaza Pachulia celebrated his 25th birthday in style. The Hawks' backup center had eight points and nine rebounds at halftime. Pachulia said before the game that he was trying to keep his birthday "quiet."
Ten shots in 10 minutes, four on one possession in the second quarter, does not exactly qualify as keeping things quiet.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "We want to finish strong going into All-Star Weekend. We've got a tough road ahead after the break and we need to get everybody back healthy and ready to go before we go out on that (Western Conference) road trip." -- Mike Bibby, on the Hawks' finish to the first half of the season.
