Atlanta Hawks Notes, Quotes 2009-04-15
--Hawks coach Mike Woodson might be able to squeeze in some quality time with one of his oldest friends when the Hawks finally get to Miami next week for their playoff series against the Heat.

Fellow Indiana All-American and basketball Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas was named the coach at Florida International Tuesday, a move Woodson said Thomas hinted at when the two talked earlier this season.

"He just mentioned a while back that he was contemplating some college opportunities," Woodson said. "And I wish him the best. I'm sure it'll be a challenge, but he's got the chops to get it done."

--G-F Mo Evans missed his second straight game Tuesday while attending the funeral of a family member.

Coach Mike Woodson said he Evans was expected to meet the team in Memphis for Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Grizzlies.

Woodson said he has yet to make a decision on who will start at small forward in the series against the Heat.

Evans was used as the primary starter for Marvin Williams, who returned last Friday after missing 16 games because of a lower back injury.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I was so nervous. I don't know what happened. It was bad." -- Speedy Claxton on his airballed free throw Tuesday.
