--Joe Johnson's focus is less on his own numbers and more on the numbers the Hawks need to pile up in the win column to secure a playoff berth. The Hawks' current three-game road trip, which pit stops in Washington Monday and New Jersey Wednesday, provides a unique opportunity."We get to play teams we're basically going head-up with for a playoff spot," Johnson said. "It's definitely huge for us. We have to approach every one of them like a playoff game. Really, we have to approach every game like it's a playoff game. We can't have any slippage from this point on. None."
--Hawks reserve G Salim Stoudamire sat out Sunday's game with a sore right ankle. Stoudamire didn't even dress out, having aggravated an injury suffered in last Monday's loss in Orlando.
--Hawks coach Mike Woodson didn't get a chance to rest his starters for most of the fourth quarter, the way he did in Friday's home romp over the Los Angeles Clippers. But he did empty the bench with the Hawks feeling secure with a 12-point lead and just one minute and 44 seconds remaining in a win that helped them move back into a tie, at 28-38, with New Jersey for eighth place in the Eastern Conference playoff chase.
"We'll take them any way we can get them," Woodson said. "We're not going to get picky now."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "Everybody was solid, and it's going to take a total team effort for this thing to happen. We've just got to keep pushing." -- Hawks coach Mike Woodson, on what it will take for his team to finish their mad dash for the playoffs.
