--Captain and All-Star Joe Johnson has been preaching for weeks about the need for his team to play with the urgency and grit befitting a desperate playoff contender. And he's started to see some of that."There are no guarantees for us, so we have to play every game like it's our last," said Johnson, who finished with 18 points, 10 assists and four rebounds. "That's what it's down to for us. And these last three games have been great for us. I think the winning has energized some guys and really helped us focus."
--The Hawks head back to the New York area Tuesday for Wednesday's game in New Jersey. But instead of their normal charter flight they are taking an express train from Washington to New York City. It's a departure from their usual mode of travel and certainly a new wrinkle for many of the players, most of who said they had never ridden the train. "If nothing else it ought to be interesting," forward Josh Childress said. "It's supposed to be a faster trip since we won't have to do the whole airport security thing. I guess we'll see if all of that is true."
