Atlanta Hawks Roster Report 2008-12-06

Atlanta Hawks Roster Report 2008-12-06
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Mike Bibby, Shooting guard Joe Johnson, Small forward Marvin Williams, Power forward Josh Smith, Center Al Horford. Bench -- Guard Flip Murray, Guard Acie Law IV, Guard Mario West, Guard Mo Evans, Guard Speedy Claxton, Forward Thomas Gardner, Forward Othello Hunter, Forward Solomon Jones, Forward/Center Zaza Pachulia, Center Randolph Morris.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Josh Smith celebrated his 23rd birthday by piling up some of his usual numbers. He went for 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two blocks in 34 minutes against the Knicks, his most extensive work in over a month. And he looked like he was all the way back to his usual self, a good sign for the Hawks now that they are on a four-game road trip.

--G Flip Murray incurred the wrath of Hawks coach Mike Woodson in the second half of Friday's game for not running the play Hawks coach Mike Woodson wanted to run and the two continued their verbal sparring all the way to the bench, with neither man willing to concede at all. It should make for an interesting trip.

--F Marvin Williams quietly led the Hawks in scoring against the Knicks, finishing with 18 points on 7-for-14 shooting. But he didn't knock down any three-point shots for just the second time this season. Williams has become the Hawks' most dangerous three-point threat, mostly because few teams expect him to continue working from distance.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Speedy Claxton remains on the inactive list with a hamstring injury and does not appear to be in the Hawks' plans any time soon.
