Atlanta Hawks Roster Report 2009-01-17

Atlanta Hawks Roster Report 2009-01-17
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Mike Bibby, Shooting guard Joe Johnson, Small forward Marvin Williams, Power forward Josh Smith, Center Al Horford. Bench -- Guard Flip Murray, Guard Acie Law IV, Guard Mario West, Guard Mo Evans, Guard Speedy Claxton, Forward Thomas Gardner, Forward Othello Hunter, Forward Solomon Jones, Forward/center Zaza Pachulia, Center Randolph Morris.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Joe Johnson led the Hawks with 25 points, and that includes a monster 13-point second quarter on 5-for-8 shooting. At least he seems to have finally regained his form in the last two games. The only problem is the Hawks are still going through their 2009 swoon.

--F Josh Smith wasn't able to overcome foul trouble in time to assist the Hawks in their efforts to come all the way back against the Warriors. Smith's an integral part of the operation every night, but especially so when the Hawks face an up-tempo team like the Warriors.

--C Zaza Pachulia's first field goal of the game gave him 1,000 for his career. In a career still in its formative stages that milestone sticks out to those who have watched Pachulia evolve the past four years with the Hawks. It'll be interesting to see if Pachulia's next 1,000 field goals come in a Hawks uniform or something else --- he'll be a free agent this summer.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F Marvin Williams is out indefinitely after suffering a blow to the head in Friday's loss at Golden State.

--C Al Horford is out indefinitely with a bone bruise in his right knee.

--G Speedy Claxton remains on the inactive list with a hamstring injury and doesn't appear to be in the Hawks' plans anytime soon.
