Atlanta Hawks Roster Report 2009-01-20

Atlanta Hawks Roster Report 2009-01-20
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Mike Bibby, Shooting guard Joe Johnson, Small forward Maurice Evans, Power forward Josh Smith, Center Zaza Pachulia. Bench -- Guard Flip Murray, Guard Acie Law IV, Guard Mario West, Guard Thomas Gardner, Forward Solomon Jones, Center Randolph Morris.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Flip Murray shot just 4-for-13 from the floor and an awful 1-for-7 from beyond the 3-point line but his 12 points off the bench couldn't have been more crucial to the Hawks' winning effort against the Raptors. He's been the one consistent scoring threat off the bench for the Hawks this season.

--F Solomon Jones played a busy 19 minutes against the Raptors but had only four rebounds and one blocked shot to show for it. Jones barely looks for scoring opportunities on the offensive end, which has to change if he's going to maximize his increased minutes while Al Horford and Marvin Williams are out with injuries.

--G Thomas Gardner showed up on the stat sheet for the first time in ages. Gardner played six minutes in the first half, marking just the second time this season he has actually played. He shot two 3-pointers, missing both. One was an air ball. But Gardner, a big-time shooter in college at Missouri, is sure to get another shot with the available bodies limited by injury.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F Marvin Williams is day-to-day after suffering a concussion in Friday's loss at Golden State.

--C Al Horford is out day-to-day with a bone bruise in his right knee.

--G Acie Law is day-to-day with a left quadriceps contusion.
