Atlanta Hawks Roster Report 2009-03-07
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Mike Bibby, Shooting guard Joe Johnson, Small forward Marvin Williams, Power forward Josh Smith, Center Al Horford. Bench -- Guard Flip Murray, Guard Acie Law IV, Guard Mo Evans, Center Zaza Pachulia.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Josh Smith and the city of Charlotte just don't go together. Two years ago Smith was ejected here and fined an extra $25,000 for making an obscene gesture to the crowd as he headed to the locker room. Friday night he was benched by Hawks coach Mike Woodson for the second half in a critical loss.

--G Acie Law IV saw the floor briefly, four minutes, against the Bobcats. It appeared, if only momentarily, that he might have a chance to play a role in the game. But Woodson pulled him shortly thereafter, ending any idle dreams Law might have had of making an impact.

--G Mo Evans was the man on the spot for the Hawks in the second half, filling in admirably for the benched Josh Smith. He finished his night with eight points and five rebounds. But Evans was strangely taken out in the fourth quarter with the game still on the line and the Hawks needing another big athletic defender on the floor to deal with the Bobcats.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Speedy Claxton remains on the inactive list with a hamstring injury and doesn't appear to be in the Hawks' plans anytime soon.
